The purpose of this program is train aspiring students in the areas necessary to become a Medical Assistant including: Medical Terminology, Medical Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Coding and Billing, Medical Manager software; Clinical Procedures including venipuncture, vital signs, assisting with minor surgery, specialty lab tests, hematology, and injections. The Medical Assistant Program also trains the students in CPR and First Aid and Medical Law and Ethics. This is accomplished through an effective balance of theory and hands on practical training involving lecture, current texts, clinical labs and personal attention. At the end of this course students are prepared to enter the workforce as an entry- level Medical Assistant.
