Position Description:
The director of education is responsible for overseeing the education department and directly supervising the instructional staff. They are active in the development of curriculum and ensuring that the established curriculums are followed precisely. By working with the instructors and the administration, they provide the leadership to the educational initiatives of the academy.

The director of education candidates should have skills that are strong in: leadership, training, managing, multitasking, coaching, phone skills, and attributes comparable to the instructors.
Candidates have to be dependable, honest, self-motivated, willing to be available for student or instructor contact outside of school hours via phone or email, able to attend graduations as well as staff and faculty meetings as assigned, have creative abilities to make new processes and methods of learning, present themselves and the organization professionally, able to work with the administration in the development of new courses and curriculum, mentor and monitor students with difficulties, stay abreast of changes in the instructional industry through media and trade publications and organizations, able to work independently as well as in a team environment with other instructors supporting others and the organizations’ efforts, react well in times of crisis and conflict, able to work with presentation tools such as blackboards and projectors, able to follow rules and procedures of the academy and maintain focus towards achieving the classroom and organization’s goals. Candidates are responsible for the monitoring of classroom operations ensuring that curriculum is being taught without deviation. They are responsible for maintaining the proper operation of the book exchange systems, provide input for hiring and disciplinary actions, help set schedules and goals, prepare and conduct employee reviews and metrics in a timely fashion, conduct regular meetings providing coaching and mentoring to assist the team in its efforts, schedule classes, and participate in orientations, graduations, industry events and special events. The director of education is the leader of the instructional group providing guidance, support, attends local and national industry functions bringing the wealth of information to the team to strengthen the group as a whole, and manages the day-to-day operations of the education department. They must help determine and actualize the overall operational goals and help develop new processes to continuously grow the academy, raise production levels, and meet all established instructor criteria.
Candidates should Bachelor’s degree with direct education experience, or preferably a Master’s degree in education or training related discipline, have excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, general knowledge of computer skills specifically towards Microsoft Office programs, ability to work flexible and adaptable work schedules, ability to use good judgment as well as decision making skills, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality in representing the organization and its efforts.
