Position Description:
The job placement coordinator is responsible for assisting graduating students in securing a position in the marketplace in the field for which they have been trained as well as securing externship sites for certain students in the medical programs at G.C.A. This position requires an individual to work in the offices as well as out in the field at industry sites in relation to the tasks assigned. They work with the students at the end of their programs as well as assist instructors who are teaching the Job Search module of various programs at G.C.A.

The job placement coordinator has to have certain skills including: customer service aptitude, presentation skills, verbal and nonverbal communication, organizational skills, multitasking, interpersonal skills, basic computer and internet skills, decision making, and both individual and group interaction. They must possess a strong work ethic, and must possess an awareness of the necessity for accuracy and ethics in all matters.
They have to be dependable, honest, self-motivated, able to work in a professional office environment, actively participate in the day-to-day operation of the school, be able to attend graduations as well as staff and faculty meetings as assigned, able to work with the administration in the development of processes and procedures, stay abreast of changes in their industry through media and trade publications and organizations, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment with other staff and team members supporting the organizations’ efforts. Individuals must possess the ability to establish a rapport with people from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The ability to use various job search medias including but not limited to Internet, newspaper, private publications, magazines, industry trade organizations, local staffing agencies and organizations, and temp to hire facilitators. The candidate must have strong self-motivation taking initiative to foster new relationships in the community through direct involvement, attending organizational meetings, and maintaining a personal presence with existing organizations partnered with G.C.A. The position requires limited travel in the local market including most Central Florida communities, however there is no overnight travel required.
Prior human resource, staffing, or job placement experience is recommended, but not mandatory. Candidates should have experience working in a professional environment and have a documented record of their success during recent years in the workplace.
