Q. How do I get started and how do I Enroll / Register?

A. It’s Easy!!! You have 5 options:

Option 1- CALL US: 407-331-3900: 2 ways are available via phone

Call from 9am to 6 pm 407-331-3900 and select option #2 for an Admissions Representative or by calling after hours 407-331-3900 and select option 5 and then option 2 for automated enrollment.

Option 2- WALK-IN / ON SITE: By appointment (407-331-3900) or walk in.

Hours are from 9am to 6pm Monday – Friday. Most Tuesdays we have a Career Night / Open House at 7:00pm .

Option 3- INTERNET: Please use the “Enroll Now” option from our home page at www.galiano.edu (a credit card is required).

Option 4- MAIL: Mail in the "5 Easy Ways To Enroll” form with your enrollment fee to the business office at least 5 days prior to the start date of the class (please select another method if class begins in less than 5 days).

Option 5- FAX: 407-834-6189: Fax us the: " 5 Easy Ways To Enroll” form. Credit card enrollments and bill agency are the only available payment options.

Q. Where are you located?

A. GCA is conveniently located in Altamonte Springs in the “ Circuit City Plaza ” on HWY 436. We are near Orlando , Casselberry , Sanford , Kissimmee , Deltona, DeBary, Ocoee, Apopka, Winter Park , Pine Hills , Fern Park , Maitland, Longwood, Oviedo & Winter Springs. Our Address Is: 1140 E. Q. Why should I attend Career Night / Open House?

A. GCA has a Career Night / Open House on most Tuesdays at 7:00pm . An Admissions Representative will give you a tour of the Academy and you will have an opportunity to view a video presentation. Our goal is to make sure you have a complete understanding of your program before making the commitment to enroll. We have a very warm and friendly atmosphere to ensure that you are 100% comfortable. We allow as much time as necessary to answer any and all of your questions. There is never an obligation to enroll if you attend a Career Night / Open House, just come and meet us and bring a family member or friend along. Please call and tell us you will be attending 407-331-3900.

Q. I do not have my High School Diploma / GED. Can I still attend classes?

A. Speak to an Admissions Representative about our special program that allows you to come to school without a High School Diploma/GED.

Q. What do I need to bring with me when I enroll/register?

A. A driver’s license / photo ID, Social Security Card, High School Diploma or GED (if you have one), and $50 for the enrollment fee.

Q. How much money down will I need to save my seat?

A. You will need a minimum of $50 to save your seat. This amount will be deducted from your tuition balance upon enrollment.

Q. How can I be assured that my seat will be saved for the next class?

A. The quickest way is to call 407–331–3900 and speak to an Admissions Representative to hold your seat with your credit card number, or make an appointment to come in.

Q. How long are the Medical, Business/Administrative and Travel Programs?

A. Classes start at a minimum of 36 Weeks in length, depending on the program you choose.

Q. What are the class times?

A. Morning classes are generally 9am – 1pm Monday thru Friday, afternoon classes are from 2pm – 6pm Monday thru Friday and evening classes are from 6pm – 10pm Monday thru Thursday. Note: Evening programs may be longer in duration.

Q. How much are the classes / programs?

A. We have many programs available. Please keep in mind that there are many financial assistance programs, for those who qualify, to help you pay for your tuition. Please come in and see what you qualify for or call your Financial Assistance Representative for more details. It only takes a few minutes!

Q. How do I qualify for these programs?

A. You must be at least 18 years of age (students under 18 will be accepted only with co-signature of parent/guardian). You must provide us with a copy of your driver’s license, social security card, High School Diploma or GED (or a passing score on the ATB evaluation). Please remember, all classes are on a first come first serve basis. Classes fill up rather quickly. Once a class is full, you are placed on a waiting list for the next available class.

Q. Is your academy licensed, approved, accredited?

A. GCA is licensed by the Florida Department of Education C.I.E., Approved by the U.S. Department of Education for Title IV Financial Aid and Accredited Nationally by ABHES.

Q. Do you offer Financial Aid or other funding options?

A. Yes, GCA is approved for Federal Financial Aid. Upon qualifying, students can receive the Federal Pell Grant, FSEOG Grant, Direct Loans, and FWS Funds. When you schedule an appointment with one of our friendly Financial Assistance Representatives, they will gladly work with you to help you find funding for your education. Students can also use Workforce One Stop Career Center Scholarships. Financial Assistance is available for students who qualify. Ask your Financial Assistance Representative for more information.

Q. Is GCA's coursework transferable for credit?

A. Acceptance or transfer of coursework credit is decided by the receiving institution. Transfer of credit can not be guaranteed at any institution. The Director of Education can assist you in the coursework credit transfer process.

Q. Is housing available?

A. GCA does not provide housing. GCA maintains a list of short-term housing opportunities and will assist you with finding housing. You are responsible for the signing of a lease, rental payments, payment of all deposits, and payment of all utilities. Transportation to and from the school is also your responsibility.

Q. My typing and computer skills are minimal to none. Can I still attend GCA?

A. Yes. Our Instructors will teach you basic to advanced typing and computer skills. These skills will be up to par in no time. Don’t worry! It’s easy. Practice makes perfect!!

Q. If I need to sit in the front of the class because of a hearing or sight difficulty, will this request be accommodated?

A. Yes. We will accommodate every request in regards to a disability. The classroom is designed in a special way so that everyone can see and hear the instructor. Classes also have limited enrollment so you won’t be attending an overcrowded class!

Q. When will I start my new career?

A. Most of GCA students start their new career within 1 to 3 months after graduation; we offer very assertive career placement assistance. At the end of your program of choice we will work with you to assist you in your job search.

Q. What kind of diploma / certificate will I receive after I graduate?

A. GCA is a licensed school by the Florida Department of Education, Commission for Independent Education and Approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Once you graduate you will receive a diploma stating that you have successfully completed your program.

Q. What kind of careers will I be qualified for upon graduation?

A. You will be qualified to work in most areas of the Medical, office/Administrative or Travel industry depending on your program of study.

Q. How much money will I make in my new career?

A. You will typically start with an entry-level rate of pay, but that could vary depending on the field you in which you specialize. You are preparing to enter a professional industry with growth potential.

Q. Have GCA graduates advanced to positions of prominence?

A. Yes. Several graduates have achieved prominence. GCA’s student life newsletter regularly reports on the professional development of graduates and often spotlights prominent achievers.

Q. Can GCA graduates find employment anywhere in the country?

A. Yes. Once you have completed your program you will receive a diploma that is valid anywhere in the country.
