Course Description:
(PREREQUISITES REQUIRED: MAP100 FUNDAMENTALS OF ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY, MOT100 MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY, MLE101 MEDICAL LAW & ETHICS OVERVIEW, MOC100 MEDICAL OFFICE PROCEDURES CLINICAL, MCB100 MEDICAL CODING & BILLING, MOM100 MEDICAL MANAGER, CPO100 CLINICAL PROCEDURES, JSW100 JOB SEARCH WORKSHOP)
All students in the Medical Assistant Program must complete a 160-hour externship, which includes working for a medical facility, primarily a doctor's office or clinic. During their 160 hours they will chart patients histories, practice phlebotomy, intramuscular injections, lab testing, EKG's and general patient care. All students will be marked on their externship.
