Course Description:

This course provides a basic look at the trends and other factors affecting the nature and scope of today’s meeting market. Students will learn about the different types of meetings and the groups that hold them, trends and revenue management. Students will also learn how to develop a marketing plan, organizing for convention sales, how to sell to the association market, the corporate market, as well as other markets including nonprofit groups and government agencies. Advertising approaches and principles, planning direct mail campaigns and planning advertising strategies, negotia tions and contracts, preparing for the event, functions rooms and meeting setups and food and beverage services.
