Course Description:
(PREREQUISITES REQUIRED: MAP100 – FUNDAMENTALS OF ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY, MOT100 – MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY, MLE101 – MEDICAL LAW & ETHICS OVERVIEW, MOC100 – MEDICAL OFFICE PROCEDURES – CLINICAL, MCB100 – MEDICAL CODING & BILLING, MOM100 – MEDICAL MANAGER)
This course includes all the necessary hands-on clinical procedures required of the medical assistant. Subjects included are: muscular system and injections, cardiovascular systems/EKG, hematology, venipuncture, digestive systems/nutrition, urinary systems/urinalysis, respiratory systems/vital signs, physical exams from pediatrics to geriatrics, pharmacology-dosage/calculations, assisting with minor surgeries, specialty lab tests, lab introduction with federal regulations, and CPR/First Aid.
